Recovery Promotes Awareness and Raises Funds
for People with Leukemia and Lymphoma
Part of the reason Recovery wanted to be involved with the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity is because of the company's dedication to giving back to the community. All shows were asked to partner with a charitable organization during the course of their production. Recovery supported the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. As the play prepares to take the stage as part of the 2011 New York International Fringe Festival, playwright Mark Jason Williams, a leukemia survivor, will continue combining his two great passions--theatre and helping children and adults with leukemia, and their families, get the chance he had.
