To create relevant, powerful and authentic theater that provides fresh insights into the human experience. His plays confront complex moral and social issues through compelling drama, humor, and nuanced, genuine characters.
Mark is driven by the conviction that great theater happens when an audience makes an emotional connection to the play, and his gratification as a playwright is derived from broad, diverse audiences sharing a meaningful dramatic encounter with his work.
Mark believes that a play develops as the playwright grows. After earning a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Mark has brought his plays to significant theater venues across the United States, including New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., and Jersey City. Each experience has helped him to better understand how drama and its characters are perceived, and to further enhance his craft.
